After reading Gladwell's The Outliers: A Story of Success, I came up with my own guidelines on how to succeed:
1. Study hard.
2. Be charismatic.
3. Take advantage of every opportunity provided.
4. Make connection.
5. Make your own decisions and for the right reason.
Now how do you define success? How will I know five, ten, or twenty years from now if I am successful?
Personally I do not associate success with how much money someone owns or how many vacation homes they own. To me success is based solely on happiness. If I can confidently say twenty years from now that I worked my hardest, pursued my interests, and am happy, then I know I am successful no matter if I am the CEO of a company or a waitress. I am who I am.
